Woman Crush Wednesday

Hello again!

In honor of it being Wednesday, I figured it was only appropriate that I dedicate this post to my #wcw: the beautiful Alee Rose. I cannot fully express to you all how fun it's been having my own real-life Barbie doll to dress up for photo shoots. This summer has given my wardrobe a lot of action which makes me really happy, seeing as it's overwhelming and nearly impossible for me to wear a lot of the pieces that I own. I've also rediscovered and fallen back in love with some items that I completely forgot about (whoops!)

Alee had a scheduled shoot with Chris Vongsawat, and once he emailed me the mood board for the shoot's concept, I was beyond stoked. Alee also told me that she had bought a wig so she could totally transform her look, which just made my excitement that much more serious. I pulled quite a few different pieces from my closet (accessories included) and crossed my fingers that the outfits I had envisioned would end up looking as good as they did in my head. They did. I would have to say that this has been my favorite shoot thus far... the pictures should justify that statement.

Thanks, Chris and Alee, for such a fun day!

Brooklyn Baby

This is an iPhone photo taken by Sarah Lovrien. Alee and I had a shoot with her out in Brooklyn. We spent a majority of the day out on the roof, kicking around beer cans and bottles from what must've been a raging rooftop party the night before. Sarah shot both digital and film, and she also took a few videos of us causing a ruckus on the rooftop. Needless to say, it was an awesome afternoon that ultimately ended with us meeting a group of friends at a bar out in BK.

So, after Sarah's photo concept was finished, Alee decided we had enough time to snap a few pictures of me. We took full advantage of Sarah's awesome apartment building for the shoot, using not only her pad, but also the stairwell. I got these really great over-the-knee boots from my mom as a Christmas gift 3 or 4 years ago and I honestly wear them more often than people would think. Because they're such a great pair of shoes, I decided to showcase them by wearing them with 3 different outfits.

After finishing our shoot, we went out to a bar to meet up with some friends. After getting a pretty good buzz, we headed back to the subway to trek back to Manhattan. Alee whipped out her camera and snapped some more pics in the subway station...we had a fun late night mini-shoot!

The next day, Alee and I enjoyed some time at a street fair before I had to hop on a train back to New Jersey. It took a lot of self-discipline to not stop at every food vendor there... it all looked way too delicious. We snagged some lemonade and shopped around a bit. It was a good day!

Hello to you all and thank you for reading!

For those of you who don't already know, allow me to introduce myself. My name is Danielle and I am 22 years old. I recently graduated from Arizona State and am currently residing in New Jersey. This blog is my way of documenting the exciting twists and turns of my life and my wardrobe.

This summer, I had the pleasure of meeting the beautiful Alee Rose. She and I had been following each other on Tumblr and Instagram, and when she had made a post about being in New York for the summer I immediately contacted her. Originally my intentions were just to meet her and hang out, but when I decided I wanted to start up this blog, she offered to do a shoot with me. I was excited for that opportunity alone, but as soon as she came out to the east coast, she presented me with the opportunity to help her with the many photo shoots she had booked. I, of course, said yes (how could I pass that up?!) and have been working with her as her stylist for the past two months. It's been a crazy change of pace, but I can't deny that this has been my most exciting summer yet.

The first shoot that I helped her with was with photographer Bradley Ennis. We spent the afternoon in  a studio out in Queens. This was the first time I had ever been to a photo shoot so I was extremely nervous but also very curious. Luckily, Alee was nothing but a sweetheart and Bradley was really helpful and friendly. I definitely felt more confident about what I was doing when I saw Alee in the outfits I had selected because she looked incredible. The photos don't lie.

Here are my two favorite shots from the shoot:
