Dysfunctional Without Cawfee

Hello everyone!

I'm really excited about this post because I am going to introduce you to my new friend, Randy. You might recognize him from his shots of Alee Rose under his Instagram username @cawfee. This guy is hands down one of the funniest people I've ever met, and also one of the most talented. I was beyond excited to have met him, let alone shoot with him, so I just had to make a blog post right away.

I admit I was having a bit of a rough day that morning through the afternoon, so my commute into the city was... sluggish, to say the least. I wasn't even sure at that point if I was even up to doing it but as soon as I met up with Randy and Alee, my spirits were much more lifted. So, I put on my makeup and had Alee curl my hair, and it was at that point that I finally felt confident about the day. I decided to wear my "fancier" outfit first so as to start the shoot off on a good note. We banged this outfit out in about 15 minutes, it seriously felt like the blink of an eye!

I can't wait to show you all the next outfit that Randy shot, more posts will be up soon!
Thanks for reading and enjoy the rest of your weekend!

XO

Side note: Don't be surprised if you see me in this exact outfit on New Year's Eve. (Lizzie McGuire is an outfit-repeater!)

A big thank you to Randy for sharing such a cool day with me.

The Abner Bootie

Hello lovelies!

I recently purchased the absolutely stunning Jeffrey Campbell Abner Booties from Nasty Gal after lusting over them for what felt like an eternity... what better graduation gift to give to yourself, right? I have to say, as intimidating as these bad boys look they're actually much more comfortable than I had expected. My feet weren't all blistered up and the platforms make it less strenuous on my arches, which is a definite plus for me considering I typically dress for comfort (even if that wasn't what had initially attracted me to the shoes in the first place). These shoes are my babies and because of that, they absolutely needed their very own place in the Internet... and thus, my blog post:

I guess you could say that I went for a lumberjack-chic kind of look, here. Flannel is a mainstay in my wardrobe. I live and breathe for plaid. I try to incorporate it in my looks year-round, which of course isn't always so easy especially when the weather here gets really hot and humid. When I came across this flannel dress, I knew it had to be mine. Since then, it's quickly become one of my favorite pieces in my closet. So far I've worn it with my Abner booties (duh), black heeled booties, combat boots, and hi-top Converse/Vans. I fully intend on doing another post about this dress where I doll it up a little bit. I'll be sure to keep you all posted!

Being 5'1" is no joke and I've actually only worn these bell bottom beauties this one time because they're too long on me. I have been meaning to get these hemmed (along with countless other clothing items that need tailoring) but life has hit me with some unexpected twists and turns, as it often does, and I haven't quite gotten around to that yet. Luckily, these boots give me an extra 5 or 6 inches, so I was finally able to bring these pants the attention they rightfully deserve. If you haven't heard of Gypsy Warrior, I would highly suggest that you do so. They've become my favorite store; from clothes, to shoes, to jewels, to interior décor, and so so SO much more... they can do no wrong.

Thanks for reading! Stay posted for more posts this week.

This Is What Makes Us Girls

Hello again and my apologies for the delay!

There's been quite a bit going on at home these past few weeks and it's taken some time to finally catch my breath and get on my computer, so... now for the post that is long overdue.

In my previous post "Brooklyn Baby" I shared some photos with you that were taken by Alee, but I never got around to showing you all the first half of what went on that day. Alee and I went to Brooklyn to shoot with the extremely talented Sarah Lovrien. We spent the afternoon stomping around on rooftops, kicking beer cans and bottles around, throwing random things all over the place, screaming obscenities at passers-by down below, and, of course, modeling. I was beyond excited when Sarah shot us in film as well as digital because I've always preferred the way film looks. After taking a photography class in college, I absolutely have an appreciation for the art and so much respect for those who take the time to develop because it really is quite a process!

All photos are film and were taken by Sarah Lovrien:

Thanks again, Sarah!
